You will need…

The Pathfinder, distilled, non alcoholic spirt. A hemp and root botanical with a characteristic bitter sweet flavour. Find it through Instagram @drinkthepathfinder

Liquid high strength Lions Mane mushroom elixir. Many versions of this are available online.

Mix all of the above. You only need a small shot of the Pathfinder as the flavour is intense, plus five or six drops of lions mane. Lions mane is a species of mushroom, know for its cognitive enhancing properties. It has been used by Buddhist monks for centuries to increase focus and concentration during long meditation sessions. I strongly recommend adding lions mane to many non alcoholic beverages. I love it.

And, a hot, steamy, double espresso.

And now you have your boosted Saturday night coffee. Great at any time, but especially good early in the evening as a pick me up. Great after dinner, but it could keep you awake into the early hours!

Three Spirit Livener with ginger

@threespiritdrinks make three fantastic non alcoholic, botanical, functional spirit alternatives. The Livener, The Social and The Nightcap. I love them all, and they have been a most helpful in my recovery and sobriety journey. They are tasty, beautifully crafted alcohol alternatives that you can genuinely look forward to in the way I might have previously anticipated that first beer of an evening.

For this Saturday evening, my recommendation is a good dose of the Livener with plenty of ice and lime with a good mixer. I swear by @fevertreemixers ginger beer. It’s a clean ginger beer, not too sugary and sweet. Perfect with the fruity punch of the Livener.

I have to say, this has been my go to drink throughout my first year of sobriety. I thought it would be a no alcohol beer, and I will be coming onto those, but no, this has had the advantage of being a great drink, but not too much like a beer or wine to be triggering. An absolute favourite, and my best recommendation so far!!!

The Best Zero Alcohol Beer

Up for debate, but, in my opinion, the current winner is Mahou 0.0 tostada. I discovered this fantastic zero beer option on this year’s summer vacation with @Mrsb47 in beautiful Andalusia. In close to 40 degree heat lounging by a pool, the desire for a cold beer kicked in. I had chosen the tostada in the supermarket on the way to our villa without knowing what truly great choice it was. All the flavour and taste of a special without any of the downsides. The ritual without the regret.

I strongly recommend any seeking a great no alcohol beer to give this a try and let me know what you think.

Only one problem! Search as i may, I have not been able to locate this beer in the uk, online or in the shops. Anyone any ideas?

Nomadic Spirit True North with Mexican Lime Soda

This is new one on me, and it’s a winner! It’s described as a functional non-alcoholic apperitivo, it’s packed full of botanicals, and is definitely one for a dinner with friends, or an October night by the fire. Plenty of energy botanicals, with damiana extract too, a natural aphrodisiac so it’s said.
